Newborn elephant swept away in river in Asia, fishermen rescue the calf and reunite it with it's mother

Animals are just like us at the end of the day, they just want love. 

We tend to separate ourselves from other species. When we really think about it, they have very similar emotions to us. They're afraid, they get insecure, they get territorial, and they grieve the same as us. They want love and family, they feel emotional pain in the same way as we do. Elephants in particular have a great memory, they're highly social animals and make long lasting family relationships. Like in the video here, the some fishermen in the Teesta River see a baby elephant floating in the water, being swept away. The Teesta River spans through India and Bangladesh. They end up rescuing the baby elephant, and although he's a bit tense and scared, they release him back into the wild and he was able to find his mother again. It's immensely wholesome and heartfelt to see this video of a baby reuniting with his mom. Both of them are emotional and make noises.   • For female elephants, family is immensely important, surprisingly enough. Mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and cousins may spend years together, they travel together, search for food and water together, and protect their young together. I couldn't imagine how this mother elephant felt when she was without her baby. He yelps with excitement and happiness when she sees her young and immediately runs up to him. She starts comforting him. It's insane because raising a baby elephant can also be a group effort, but not always. Male elephants follow a different social path. They leave their families as they get older, and they form friendships with others.
